This instrument serves to be used for both measuring the dip and azimuth angle in the magnetic diggings and casing log. The common clinograph depend on the compass or magneto sensor to direction. The azimuth of drilling is difficult to being confirmed in the magnetic diggings and casing log because of the magnetic substances. Therefore, the method which used for directional peg-top is efficient. The gyroscopes are classified as mechanical and electronic. The mechanical gyroscopes have big zero drift, short operational life and uncompetitive price. The peg-top inclinometer adopt electronic gyroscopes which have a smaller dimension, long service life, a smaller zero drift and reasonable price
The peg-top inclinometer consists of a ground apparatus, a winch ( when the borehole depth exceeds 300 meters, a winch control unit shall be needed.) and a borehole probe. The data can be stored automatically. It made a feature of light in weight and easy to use.
